The upper is 100% leather as stated by a sticker on the bottom of the shoe. The shoes fit well and looks nice. Excellent shoe.I purchased these for my dad, and he went on and on about how comfortable they are. They’re very lightweight and cushy.Could I get some laces that are 6 inches shorter? These drag the ground.These shoes are GREAT. Stylish, comfortable, light, and somehow very breathable despite being leather.A friendly word of advice to folks who 1-star this or any other shoe/clothing/etc. here on Amazon based on the sizing being wrong. Try before you buy is an option available to you on Amazon. Amazon will send you the shoe and you have a week to try them on to see if the fit is appropriate for your foot. I'm not trying to be condescending at all, it's a feature some folks don't take advantage of, blind-buy a shoe, and then are disappointed when it doesn't fit and leave a bad review for the product. We all know shoes vary by manufacturer, so give the try before you buy feature a shot - it's a lifesaver. On that note, I will say that these run half a size larger than Skechers. So if you wear a 10.5 in Skechers, consider ordering a 10 in Rockports.Hope this helped!I have slightly short but moderately wide feet. With other brands almost always 8.5 EE (or Wide or whatever system is used for a given brand) leaves a little bit too much toe room but has comfortable width and is just about as good as I can get for any shoes. With these Rockports though, they were extremely narrow to the point they were painful. To fit at all I had to loosen the laces so much they weren't long enough to tie, and it was clearly not something that just needs to be broken in. Bummer, because they do look nice. The sole seemed overly stiff, but I couldn't wear them enough to make a good judgement on that aspect.This shoe is great for being on the move. Very comfortable to walk long distances in. Quality materials and they last.Good walking shoes for all day and nightI've work Rockport ProWalkers for nearly 20 years and was very sad to see them go the way of the dinosaur. I've avoided anything since fearing I would be terribly disappointed. These aren't ProWalkers, but they feel awesome. They are a little wider in the toe box than ProWalkers, but that works-out well for me. My small toe isn't scrunched in the medium width shoe and the wide was always sloppy on me. These are super-light too, so maybe a little easier on the knees. I doubt that they will wear like the ProWalkers, but mine always looked horrible long before they wore out so these are probably going to be fine. Might have given them 5 starts if I had more time in them, have only had them a week. I may update this one later if they prove worthy.Paid around $50 and that's about what they're really worth. A very cheap shoe both in price and quality but does have a nice colour (tan) and comfort being very light. This was a budget purchase and these shoes definitely reflect that. You get what you pay for so I have no regrets, no complaints and no returns! Recommended.I ordered size 11 1/2 which is what I always wear. They were too small.I exchanged them for size 12. It was a couple of weeks before those came.These are a little small but after walking on them they seem to be ok. I reallylike the shoes. Very light and good quality. The top of these are darker as though they might have been water proofed. They were really comfy since day 1.I only wish they came with elastic shoe laces. That would have saved me the time to put my own.On the plus sign, black or dark gray shoe laces work perfectly with these shoes and blend very naturally with the darker leather around the eyelets.I wore these shoes for just a month and liked them (very comfortable) but there is a light coloured band around the top of the sole which wore through on the right shoe on the heel where I use the accelerator in the car. Rather than being made of a solid material (eg rubber) this light coloured band is just a cheap thin veneer ( looks as thin as a supermarket shopping bag when it starts to come away ). I have had Rockport shoes in the past and have found them to be very robust, these shoes aren't in the same class.
